All! Ya boy Aidan's been on a bunch of podcasts lately and I thought it'd be nice to round some of them up in one place for all you sickos who don't regularly search for "aidan moher" in your podcast app of choice. As you can expect, a lot of chatter about console RPGs, a surprising volume of Nintendo DS, and deep dives into a few of my very favourite games.

Axe of the Blood God

Pantheon of the Blood God - Lunar: Silver Star Story

I'm a ginormous fan of both Axe of the Blood God and Lunar, so being invited on this episode was a particular highlight for me. Come for the Lunar, stay for the Shadow Madness madness.

The Blood God hosts are taking a quick holiday break so as a treat we're pulling a classic episode of Pantheon of the Blood God out from behind the paywall!

Listen to this deep-dive into Lunar: Silver Star Story and if you like what you hear subscribe at the $10 tier to access the entire back catalogue of Pantheon of the Blood God. Or better yet, give the gift of the Blood God this holiday season with Patreon's new subscription gifting feature.

Regular episodes will be back soon, including our year-end lists, but until then enjoy this classic:

For the March 2023 edition of the Pantheon of the Blood God, Kat, Nadia, and Eric are joined by Anthony John Agnello and Aidan Moher for Lunar: The Silver Star Story! Their increasingly unhinged conversation covers the following:

• The story of Working Designs
• Luna's Boat Song
• SHADOW MADNESS
• And much, much more!

Then the verdict: Is Lunar: Silver Star Story worthy of the Pantheon of the Blood God? Listen in and find out!

Still Loading Podcast

Always a joy to join Josh on Still Loading Podcast, and this time around we get to chat about two of my all time favourite things: Nintendo DS and Chrono Trigger.

Still Loading #333: The Nintendo DS w/ Bill Barber and Aidan Moher

The 3rd pillar is officially 20 years old now! That's hard for me to stomach personally. I still feel like the system can't be that old but here we are. Joining me not to talk about feeling old but to celebrate all things Nintendo DS is author Aidan Moher and podcaster Bill Barber of the Gaming & Collecting Podcast. We had a wonderful conversation talking about the history of the console, it's legacy overall and also how much we wish game devs would try new ideas out like they did on the DS. Come celebrate 20 years of the DS with us!

Still Loading #316: Chrono Trigger w/ Aidan Moher

Toriyama Month is coming to an end and I could not think of a better way to cap off this series than to talk about Chrono Trigger. Considered one of the best games ever made, Chrono Trigger is an impressive achievment for it's time and is genuinley one of my favorite games. I'm joined by author Aidan Moher to discuss this dream team crafted game. What do I mean by Dream Team? You will have to listen to find out!

Super Gamer Podcast

Super Gamer Podcast 153 – Fight-Magic Items with Aidan Moher

Love joining other RPG fans to chat about console RPGs and my book! This was a great interview, with a really fun hockey-related minigame that still makes me laugh.

Our guest this week is the writer of Fight, Magic, Items: The History of Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and the Rise of Japanese RPGs in the West, Aidan Moher! We talk about why this is a story Moher wanted to tell, the work that went into it, why Chrono Trigger doesn’t need a remake, and the lowly, shameful Vancouver Canucks.

RPGaymer

31. Random Encounters feat. Aidan Moher

Had a ton of fun joining the RPGaymer crew to chat about the history of random encounters in RPGs, and how they shape environmental game design.

How many times have you been galavanting about on a world map only to be jumped by 3 over-leveled dragons that make chopsticks out of your bones? Or have you been in a cave where every 10 steps you run into the exact same group of monsters you just fought? Encounters come in many shapes and sizes, but true game design only happens when they’re curated by game developers to give an appropriate challenge that tests a variety of skills.

Jason, Casey, and Patrick weren’t ready to encounter this episode, so they had to bring along a 4th party member! Author of Fight, Magic, Items: The History of Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and the Rise of Japanese RPGs in the West, Aidan Moher is here to help our trio take down this behemoth-ridden encounter!
